Cheval 11 Launched at the Terry Hetherington Young Writers Awards!
Last night at the Dylan Thomas Centre, the late Neath poet Terry Hetherington was honoured once more. The evening featured readings from 25 young poets and writers, all of which are featured in Cheval 11. The ceremony marks the culmination of the £1000 prize which took submissions from all over the UK.
Parthian Remembers Candy Royalle
We're incredibly saddened to hear of the death of Candy Royalle, aged 37. The Lebanese-Palestinian Australian, an award-winning poet, storyteller, spoken word performer and activist, toured the UK in 2015 and delivered a blisteringly energised and powerful performance at The Cellar Bards in Cardigan, west Wales.
The Library of Wales at Hay Festival
The Hay Festival is one of the premier international book festivals that takes place annually in the Welsh town of Hay-on-Wye. This year, an event centred on the Library of Wales was pannelled by Phil George, chair of Arts Council of Wales, author Rachel Trezise, and Cardiff University's Tomos Owen. The trio discussed the merits of the series, representation of women, and the depth of Welsh writing.
Rocking the Boat with the Llansteffan Literature Festival
Llansteffan Literary Festival is a week-long celebration of books, stories, and poetry running from June 3rd - June 10th. We're excited by the wealth of talented writers this year, coming from as near as Cardiff and as far as Latvia.
'Hummingbird' and 'Bad Ideas \ Chemicals' shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year
On Friday 11 May, it was announced that Hummingbird (Tristan Hughes) and Bad Ideas \ Chemicals (Lloyd Markham) are nominated for the Fiction Award at the 2018 Wales Book of the Year!
