Join us at Waterstones Abergavenny on the 3rd of July at 7pm (doors open 6:30pm) to celebrate the 10th edition of the New Welsh Writing Awards and announce the winners for The Rheidol Prize and The Borzello Trust Poetry Prize.
The writers shortlisted for The Rheidol Prize: For prose with a Welsh theme or setting are (in alphabetical order) : Sam Christie, Louise Denham, Kevin Dyer, Sybilla Harvey and Natalie Ann Holborow and Neil Stone.
The poets shortlisted for The Borzello Trust Poetry Prize are (in alphabetical order): Emma Baines, Natasha Gauthier, Cerys Hughes, Lesley James, Sarah Persson, Rhian Thomas.

Take Three Canadians. Tristan Hughes, Tyler Keevil and Catrin Menai will be reading from and discussing their latest books and the influence of Canadian short story writer Gail Hughes who lived in Bangor, north Wales. In celebration of Canada Week. £5 entry. Booking info here.

Join us to celebrate an evening of Welsh Canadian writing and art with Tristan Hughes, Tyler Keevil and Catrin Menai. Tyler and Tristan will discussing their fiction including Boundary Waters and Burrard Inlet and also the influence of the Canadian short story writer Gail Hughes who lived in Bangor, north Wales but was originally from Alberta, Canada. Catrin Menai is a writer and artist whose work is featured in Take Three Canadians. She is the daughter of Gail Hughes. An opportunity to ask questions and join a discussion about writing, art and Canada. Organised in partnership with Ynys Mon libraries, Awen Menai, the Books Council of Wales and Parthian Books, tickets to this book launch include a complimentary glass of wine or soft drink.
