The life and work of a man described as "the forgotten genius of Welsh literature” is being commemorated with the unveiling of a blue plaque at his home in the town. William Glynne-Jones's novels and short stories are being increasingly appreciated, not least with the re- publication of two of his novels in the prestigious Library of Wales series. This #InternationalWomensDay, we thought we’d shine a light on one of Wales’ finest women writers who, despite a relatively short career and untimely passing, produced some of the most important and memorable short fiction of the 20^th century in Wales.

The writer and artist Brenda Chamberlain lived on the Greek islands during the 1960s. This week, the writer and traveller Brenda Squires visited Ydra and helped with Parthian’s international distribution by calling into the bookshop and newsagents on Odoz N. The Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC) recently chose 15 poems from The Library of Wales anthology, Poetry: 1900 - 2000 for the 2020 GCSE in English Literature component on Welsh Writing in English. This exciting news was shared on Swansea University website where Teachers can also find resources on each of the poems.

The monumental Welsh classic Border Country by Raymond Williams has been translated into Italian for the first time. We're thrilled to see Welsh literature cross borders like that!
