Poems from Library of Wales Poetry: 1900-2000 Selected for 2020 GCSE

The Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC) recently chose 15 poems from The Library of Wales anthology, Poetry: 1900 - 2000 for the 2020 GCSE in English Literature component on Welsh Writing in English. This exciting news was shared on Swansea University website where Teachers can also find resources on each of the poems.

The resources are in-depth, line-by-line guides into each poem, including bios of the poets, analysis of the title and a close reading of the content. The resources are recommended for teachers as supplemental teaching guides. In addition to the thorough analysis, they also provide links to other resources, questions students could ask, as well as an over-arching synopsis of the analysis.

Below are the 15 poems chosen for use in the 2020 GCSE:
