Parthian Books wins PEN Translates Award
Parthian has been announced as the recipient of a PEN Translates Award for Brazilian author Nara Vidal's short story collection, Maps to Nowhere (Mapas para desaparecer). Maps to Nowhere was published in Brazil to great acclaim, winning the 2021 Luiz Gondim Book of the Year Prize. It was also shortlisted for the prestigious Jabuti Prize the same year. Call for Submissions: Essays from Marginalised Voices
In 2019, Parthian Books will publish an anthology of essays, which will platform a range of marginalised voices (including BAME, LGBTQ, people with mental health problems, neurodivergent, and disabled people). The aim of the book is to platform and celebrate diverse voices and identities from Wales, while giving the authors the freedom to write on any topic that they wish. We are especially looking to commission and publish new and emerging writers. Writers must be born, studying, living in, or have a connection to Wales.
