Parthian: Regional & Country Finalist for the Small Press of the Year!

Team Parthian are thrilled to have made the list of finalists for Wales for Small Press of the Year once again!

In the words of Richard Davies, our Publishing Director:

"We love being part of this annual celebration of publishing and bookselling – it’s also a great opportunity to see what all the other publishers have been up to without being called nosy."

Parthian was set up in the 90s to develop work by new and emerging writers – thirty years or so later we remain true to the same ethos. In 2024 we were able to rescue the New Welsh Review, a leading literary magazine that had fallen on hard times, while also providing opportunities for emerging writers such as Joshua Jones, Carys Shannon and Brennig Davies. Jones’s debut Local Fires, a break-up love letter to his home-town of Llanelli, was shortlisted for two major awards.

The Small Press Regional and Country Winners will be announced on 12th March. Wish us luck!
