On 13th March, it was announced that Parthian had won the British Book Award for Small Press of the Year for the Wales region. It turned a good day at the London Book Fair into an excellent one.
We were shortlisted for the prize on 22nd February amid a host of other nominees for the Nibbies, which included our friends at Firefly Press. Several of our favourite independent bookshops were also shortlisted for the bookshop prize including Drake The Bookshop (North), Griffin Books (Wales), and Cover to Cover (Wales).
To be shortlisted for this honour in independent publishing meant we were among other worthy nominees like Dead Ink, who we admire for their incredible work in the Know Your Place anthology. We share this honour with every author, reader, editor, typesetter, translator, marketer, and bookseller who has made Parthian what it is. We are grateful.
