Parthian is hosting a design contest for the cover of Cheval 11, the collection of poetry and short stories selected from submissions to the Terry Hetherington Young Writers Award. The winner will be selected by the editorial staff at Parthian which includes: Richard Davies, Rose Widlake, Glyn Edwards, Siôn Owen, and Aida Birch. This is a unique opportunity to display your creativity in relation to a body of literature.
We recommend designers read about the mission of the Cheval Trust and Terry Hetherington Award that can be found here: chevalwriters.org.uk. The cover design should be visually striking and reflective of the content you would expect to find in the book. Consider your own favourite book covers, and what makes them stand out, to find inspiration for your design.
The winner will be paid for their design and will get to see it printed along with the stories that will comprise Cheval 11.
