Could you be the next great crime writer? We're giving away two bursaries to new writing talent under 30 to enable them to attend a three-and-a-half day residential retreat on the international art of great Crime Writing. The ‘Killer Novel’ Residential Retreat runs from August 25 until August 28, 2017 at the luxurious listed Rhosygilwen Mansion in North Pembrokeshire.
On the course the UK’s leading crime fiction reviewer, Barry Forshaw, will be sharing his knowledge of what it takes to write a great crime novel. Participants will be able to tap into his knowledge and appreciation of some of the best 20th and 21st century crime fiction.
To encourage young writers, we’re giving away two bursaries to attend the course, meaning that the price of your ticket – which includes full board and exclusive use of an en-suite bathroom – will be paid in full. To be in with a chance of winning you must be a writer under 30 and unpublished in novel form. If you fit that criteria, submit a synopsis, a 7-page sample of your work and a cover letter expressing your interest in the bursary to the Parthian office. The sample can be from a completed novel or a work-in-progress, but it must be crime fiction!
From your sample, we’re looking for style and that special something that makes us want to read on. All submissions must be paper copies and we can’t wait to read them. Could you be the next great crime writer? Submit and find out.
Deadline for submissions: 9 July 2017
