The second series of Pobol y Rhondda, presented by Siôn Tomos Owen starts this Thursday 23 March at 21:30 on S4C exploring the Rhondda Valley and its people. The series will feature the book launch of Cawl – Siôn Tomos Owen's anthology of short stories, poems and essays.

Congratulations to Dai Smith, longlisted for the Edge Hill Short Story Prize 2017 for All That Lies Beneath/What I Know I Cannot Say.

The list of 40 books includes well established authors such as Mark Haddon (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Susan Hill (The Woman in Black) and Helen Oyeyemi (Boy, Snow, Bird) as well as up-and-coming writers. The winner, to be announced at Edinburgh International Book Festival in August, will receive a £10,000 prize.

Natalie Ann Holborow's debut poetry collection And Suddenly You Find Yourself was recently released launched at the Kolkata Book Fair in India, the biggest book fair in the world, where Holborow has been taking part in The Valley, The City, The Village project. As part of this project, Welsh and Indian writers are travelling between the two countries, engaging with newly discovered cultures through writing poetry, prose, blogs and stories.
