And they're out in the wild...
In another page to our bumper month of poetry releases, Rae Howells and Emily Vanderploeg launched their debut poetry collections The language of bees and Strange Animals. It was a wonderful night of poetry readings, book signings and buzzing conversation hosted at the Elysium Gallery, Swansea.
Both collections use our surrounding natural world and its creatures to explore the strange and to understand its language. Emily Vanderploeg takes the reader on a journey to question where we have come from, whilst reflecting on her own story of migration. Rae Howells uses the humble bee to inspect the ordinary story of human life and the extraordinary natural world, to showcase our intertwined nature and the danger in what might be lost.
Both Strange Animals by Emily Vanderploeg and
