Hello Book Lovers!
A very happy Monday to you all. I have some news... for those of you living in the city or visiting there will soon be more poetry in your life with the addition of five (soon to be six) poems in our shopping arcades for the next year including work by Topher Mills, whose Selected Poems will be released through Parthian in the summer, and João Morais, whose debut short story collection Things that Make the Heart Beat Faster is available through us now...
Literature Wales write: 'Cardiff is the City of Arcades and soon enough those arcades will be filled with publicly accessible poetry. Keep your eyes open for that and in the meantime join us to hear The Arcade Poems, and some extras, straight from the poets who wrote them!
'On the Cardiff City of Arcades Day we will be joined by Mab Jones, Hanan Issa, Topher Mills, Joao Morais and your host Emily Cotterill, part-time poet, part-time City of Arcades staff.'
Peter Finch and Siân Melangell Dafydd make up the six chosen poets. To find out more read Mab Jones' blog post about the project and how she made her selection to represent the poetic landscape of this city.
